Quick Answer

Arrive in KvK2 with one dependable field pair, resources to heal it and a clear alliance assignment. Another half-built legendary is usually less useful than a march that can stay in the war. Reinforcing the right rally or garrison is a real contribution, especially when your field technology and equipment lag behind stronger accounts.

KvK2 is its own season. Do not import a Season of Conquest crystal-tech route or assume that a commander discussed in an endgame video is available to your kingdom.

Check the Season Before the Shopping List

Open the Lost Kingdom information, chronicles and commander availability for your account. Note entry requirements, the applicable commander restrictions, expected objectives and the alliance you will fight with. Migration eligibility is a separate check; owning passports does not guarantee entry to a target kingdom.

The Lost Kingdom reference covers the season's broad objectives and preparation. Its general framework is useful, but exact current dates and restrictions belong to your event screen.

What to Prepare

Item Ready looks like Warning sign
Commander pair Usable skills on both; primary level/talents serve the role Several unlocked legendaries and no finished march
Equipment A coherent set for the primary's troop type One expensive item and several irrelevant slots
Troops Enough of the required type for your assignment Fielding weak extra marches just because queues exist
Healing budget Resources and speedups reserved for repeated fights Spending the war bank on a pre-war ranking push
Communication Know the UTC time, voice/chat channel and rally instructions Arriving after the opening and asking where everyone went

Keep unopened resource items unopened until needed. You cannot convert a pile of loose resources back into bag items. Check hospital space before joining a prolonged fight and keep a route to safety.

Commander Spending Before the Season

An existing early infantry or cavalry pair can be the sensible starting point. Compare whether finishing a current commander improves the march enough to justify the cost, especially when later-season options are approaching.

Do not buy an old legendary solely because an undated “KvK2 best” list names it. Ask how long you will use it, whether the pair is ready and what the same sculptures would do after the next season transition. The investment guide separates current usefulness from a new purchase.

At a Pass Opening

Be online early enough to position and prepare. Leadership needs rally leads, correct reinforcements and coordinated field pressure. Send the troop type requested, check the rally before joining, and avoid filling capacity with the wrong units because your preferred march is already busy.

If you are assigned to field combat, stay with the group. A lone march can be removed before it helps the objective. If you cannot trade efficiently, reinforce, scout or handle another requested task rather than repeatedly feeding troops to a stronger ball.

Honor, Rewards and the War Budget

Read each reward's eligibility and timing. Personal honor, alliance progress and kingdom objectives are different tracks; doing well on one does not automatically qualify you for everything else.

Spend regenerating AP regularly and reserve bottled AP for a deliberate reward target. Do not empty the whole bank chasing a ranking you cannot realistically finish. The useful comparison is the extra reward at the next achievable threshold, not the total reward advertised at first place.

Before Leaving the Lost Kingdom

Claim eligible rewards, check closing timers and follow alliance instructions for territory and migration. Review which march actually earned useful trades and which resources ran out first. That record is a better starting point for KvK3 than simply deciding you need more power.
