Commanders: Commander directory · Pairing decisions · Equipment progression
Quick Answer
Joan of Arc Prime is a legendary cavalry commander. She adds area skill damage and support to a cavalry march; she is not an upgraded gathering build for epic Joan. A developed Alexander Nevsky is a natural partner to compare, with Nevsky leading and Joan secondary as a practical starting configuration.
Her fourth skill is central to the investment. Do not evaluate her using only an impressive active-skill screenshot and then leave the repeat-cast mechanic poorly developed.
Why the Fourth Skill Matters
Sacred Banner deals fan damage and gives nearby friendly troops a short damage/rage benefit. The Blessed adds a chance to cast Sacred Banner when the secondary commander uses an active skill, with its own cooldown. The chance improves with skill level. Her other passives support cavalry movement, damage and health. The skill descriptions explain why her job differs from epic Joan's.
For field use, that means staying near allied fighting marches has a purpose. Running far ahead to chase a lone target leaves the friendly support component behind. You can still focus a single target, but you want the damage fan to catch nearby enemies and the friendly effects to reach the group doing the fighting.
Skill Order and the 5115 Question
Players discuss 5115 because it prioritises the active and fourth skill while keeping the middle skills cheap. Treat that as a configuration to understand, not a guaranteed low-cost shopping list. Reaching an exact distribution depends on the skill-lock/reset options available and the results of your upgrades. Write down the current skills before spending reset items.
A more developed Joan gains useful cavalry stats as well. Compare what the next upgrades add to your actual march. If the fourth skill is still weak, finishing unrelated passive levels first can leave the feature you bought her for inconsistent.
Pairings and Position
| Setup | Use case | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Nevsky / Joan Prime | Cavalry field damage with Joan's area pressure | Pure cavalry conditions, Joan's fourth skill and the primary's equipment |
| Xiang Yu / Joan Prime | An existing cavalry investment with a clear field role | Whether replacing the current partner is worth the sculptures |
| Joan Prime primary | A deliberate Support-tree choice | Use her actual primary talents; do not reverse a pair without comparing the skill sequence |
She does not need level 60 to contribute all unlocked skills from secondary. She does need the stars and skill investment for the job. Spend experience where it changes capacity or the primary's talents first.
Equipment and Field Habits
Put cavalry gear on the primary and keep the march cavalry-only when the pair's conditions require it. Start with a coherent affordable set before spending on premium accessories. A damage accessory cannot compensate for an unfinished troop-type setup across six equipment slots.
Stay with your ball, change target before a chase separates you from it, and leave before a nearly empty march gets surrounded. Joan can add substantial output, but her kit does not exempt cavalry from bad positioning.
Should an F2P player build her?
If cavalry is the account's chosen fighting line, compare the complete pair cost. If the account already fields a strong infantry march and has no cavalry gear, finish the existing plan before starting Joan simply because her name appears on a tier list.
