Quick Answer

Golden Kingdom rewards preserving your army across floors. Explore safe tiles before taking optional fights, deal with hazards that punish exploration and save healing for the march that keeps the whole team functioning. Winning a fight while crippling your only front line can lose the run a few floors later.

Build a lineup with durable front armies and damage behind them. Five damage dealers are not automatically a stronger dungeon team.

The Floor Loop

The familiar format has 20 floors, with progress through each floor tied to its chief and periodic reward checkpoints. Fog hides fights, resources and helpful locations. Troop health persists between battles, so unnecessary encounters carry a real cost. The Golden Kingdom reference documents those core mechanics.

Clear accessible safe fog first. Look for resources, beneficial locations and a route to the chief before fighting every visible enemy. An enemy that blocks a valuable route can be worth removing; an optional fight with little return may not be.

Hazards and Useful Locations

Discovery Practical response
Arrow tower or exploration hazard Stop revealing tiles blindly; clear a path to remove the hazard or use an appropriate item
Healing location Restore the march whose loss would break the next battles, not automatically the one with the lowest percentage
Reinforcement option Compare the actual offered army with the role your lineup lacks
Shop/checkpoint opportunity Buy toward the next difficult floors rather than carrying an unused currency balance into defeat

Do not assume a reinforcement commander has maxed skills simply because the portrait is legendary. Inspect what the event is actually providing.

Position Before You Fight

Put durable armies where they will take first contact and keep fragile damage behind them. Adjust to the opposing placement. A lineup that worked on the previous floor can fail when the enemy's damage lands in a different lane.

Use commanders already developed on your account. Shielding, healing, control and area damage can all be useful, but buying a new legendary just for this occasional mode is difficult to justify before the main field march is finished.

Choose Blessings for the Current Run

A blessing is useful when your surviving armies can exploit it. Troop-specific damage that applies to only a small fraction of the lineup may lose to a less impressive-looking defensive or healing effect that keeps every fight affordable.

For example, if the front line repeatedly falls before the back line finishes its targets, another small damage bonus may not solve the problem. Protection that buys another skill cycle can change the outcome. If the front survives comfortably but battles drag on, more useful damage becomes the better comparison.

When to Heal or Restart

Do not hoard a healing item until the army it would save has already been lost. Equally, avoid spending it to top up a march that can comfortably survive the next easy encounter.

If the early run has gone badly and your available reset rules allow another attempt, restarting can be cheaper than forcing a broken lineup deeper. Check the reset and reward rules first. A reset is a recovery option, not proof that every account can guarantee a perfect run.

Should I clear every enemy?

No. Clear the encounters that unlock worthwhile progress or rewards. The useful target is a successful, affordable run, not an empty floor bought with all your remaining health.
