Quick Answer

Liu Che is a legendary infantry commander whose damage is built around smite and normal attacks. Do not put him into a skill-damage plan just because his active button deals damage. A developed Liu Che can fit behind a Smite-tree primary such as William Wallace, Bai Qi or Sun Tzu Prime; which one you should buy depends on the rest of the account.

His own trees are Infantry, Versatility and Attack. He does not gain a Smite tree because later infantry commanders have one.

What Makes His Damage Different

Glory of Shizong deals smite damage in an arc and slows the troops it hits. His passives reward infantry-only use, add normal-attack interactions and reduce a target's output after smite hits. Expertise supplies an additional normal-attack opportunity. The skill reference is the starting point for those distinctions.

Smite uses the normal-damage side of the damage system rather than simply inheriting skill-damage bonuses. That is why a partner's debuff, an inscription or an accessory must be judged by its wording. “More damage” and “more skill damage” are not interchangeable purchases for Liu Che.

Pairing Choices

Primary / secondary Practical role Investment caution
William Wallace / Liu Che An established smite infantry option Compare newer choices before starting Wallace solely for Liu Che
Bai Qi / Liu Che Smite pressure in large field fights Both commanders need a realistic completion budget
Sun Tzu Prime / Liu Che Repeated smite interactions during Prime's window Do not assume every older accessory preset fits the new pair
Scipio Prime / Liu Che Using an already developed support infantry commander Some skill-specific bonuses do less for Liu Che than the pairing name suggests

The least expensive sensible upgrade may be keeping the partner you already own. Replacing a functional pair costs sculptures that might produce more value in another weak part of the roster.

Skills and Talents

Plan Liu Che as a long-term project if you intend to expertise him. His expertise affects the normal-attack engine; it is not a cosmetic finish. An intermediate configuration can be useful while saving, but its performance should not be presented as identical to the completed commander.

As secondary, he contributes skills without using his own talent allocation. When leading, build around his Attack and Infantry trees and the march's real damage type. There is no verified node-by-node tree supplied here, so keep a reference to the full current tree when allocating connectors.

Equipment and Actual Field Use

Use pure infantry where his skill condition requires it. Start with coherent infantry stats on the primary, then compare accessories and formations for smite/normal damage. A high skill-damage number can be a distraction if it barely improves the part of the pair doing the work.

Keep your army attacking from a useful angle. The arc and slow can help your side hold contact, but do not chase a low-health enemy through the opposing ball. Look at outgoing damage, severely wounded troops and how long you stayed in useful combat. A report with more damage and a much larger hospital bill is not automatically a better build.

Is Liu Che only useful with a new legendary primary?

No. A developed existing infantry partner may be the sensible bridge. Starting a second commander solely to make a screenshot pairing is a separate investment decision.
